Makan-Makan with Dr. Hakim is part of the ‘Blank Space- Bring your color’, a series if curated stimulating storytelling experiences & community dialogues that seek to expose, inspire & equip for social impact. In this session, we will hear more about the purpose and vision behind The Relational Learning Project (RLP) which was initiated by Dr. Hakim Young and the Afghan Peace Volunteers. Participants will be given an opportunity to participate in Relational Learning Circles (RLCs) conversations which function as focus groups on relational knowledge, attitudes, and practices, in which participants ask, listen, relate and learn from one another.

About Dr. Hakim Young
Since 2002, Dr. Hakim, a medical physician trained in Singapore, has worked among Afghans in Pakistan and Afghanistan as a medical humanitarian worker, a community and livelihood development facilitator, and a peace-builder. Prior to his work abroad, he volunteered at various times with the Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association and Teen Challenge, and with Tetraplegia Workgroup Singapore. He is the 2012 recipient of the International Pfeffer Peace Prize by the Fellowship of Reconciliation (USA) for his work with the Afghan Peace Volunteers and the 2017 recipient of the Singapore Medical Association Merit Award for contributions in social service to communities.
